RESUMO

Introduction: This qualitative study addresses the essential yet often overlooked experiences of knowledge transfer within care homes (CH). Conducted in a Slovenian CH in 2020 and 2023, participants, including CH management, staff, and residents with their relatives, shared perceptions of knowledge transfer at various levels. The study aims to explore barriers and facilitators for knowledge transfer crucial for creating new knowledge, services, and enhancing care quality for older individuals. Methods: Structured focus group interviews were conducted, and data were collected within the CH. The participants' insights into knowledge transfer were probed, covering various dimensions such as between individuals, groups, organizations, and the community. Transcriptions of recorded interviews were analyzed using content analysis. Results: Knowledge transfer within the CH was facilitated through continuous training, diverse communication channels, and mentoring. Collaboration with relatives improved understanding of resident preferences, habits, and overall enhanced the quality of care. This collaborative effort allowed mutual learning and knowledge transfer from the CH to the broader community. Despite potential benefits, there is an underutilization of information and communication technology, e-care, and untapped potential for partnerships, partly due to the scarcity of care. Barriers were identified in the form of stereotypical attitudes towards aging and care, further reinforced by negative news coverage on older people's care. Conclusion: The multidimensional nature of knowledge in CH centers on resident well-being, emphasizing three key aspects of knowledge transfer: between staff and residents, staff and residents' families, and between the CH and the community. In the context of age management, creating opportunities for knowledge transfer is crucial, emphasizing a transition from traditional institutional care to an approach prioritizing knowledge about quality care. and involving experts from experiences in care process.

RESUMO

Enterprises across the globe are facing increasing pressure to effectively utilize resources and reduce costs through green supply chain practices. Emerging technology, such as blockchain technology which enables green practices, has become a contemporary industrial paradigm. However, enterprises need to build green intellectual capital to implement blockchain technology, which can be key to realizing green supply chain practices. This research examines the impact of green intellectual capital (GIC) on blockchain technology and its role in implementing green manufacturing to achieve sustainability. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was utilized for assessing the proposed hypotheses, and cross-sectional data was accumulated from manufacturing firms. As per the results, GIC, which includes green human capital, green structural capital, and green relational capital has a crucial role in the implementation of blockchain technology. The outcomes also indicated that the adoption of blockchain technology significantly influences green manufacturing. Moreover, green manufacturing (GM) has a substantial role in improving business sustainability. This empirical research provides a deeper understanding of how GIC and blockchain technology contribute to the implementation of GM. This research also provides guidelines that managers, policymakers, and producers can use to facilitate the incorporation of GM practice into business activities.

RESUMO

This study extends the foundations of the natural resource-based view (NRBV) by introducing a mediation-moderation framework by analyzing the influence of green intellectual capital (GIC) on both green innovation performance (GIP) and environmental performance (EP) while simultaneously considering the mediating role of green absorptive capacity (GAC) and the moderating influence of the green innovation climate (GICL). The data for this study was gathered from a sample of 575 participants employed within small and medium enterprises' (SMEs') manufacturing firms. This dataset was utilized to evaluate the proposed model; this study uses the PLS-SEM approach to comprehensively examine the complex interactions among these variables. This model adds to the theoretical understanding of NRBV and enhances its practical applicability. The findings of this study reveal a positive relationship between GIC, GAC, GIP, and EP within organizations. Furthermore, our investigation reveals a positive correlation between a GICL and the relationships involving GIC, GAC, GIP, and EP. Importantly, this research introduces a novel perspective by clarifying the complex relations among these variables and highlighting the positive correlation between a GICL and the relationships involving GIC, GAC, GIP, and EP. This novel approach enhances the theoretical understanding of NRBV and its practical applicability in fostering GIP and EP within manufacturing SMEs operating in Pakistan.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: The Russian healthcare system is in the process of transformation and changes, trying, on the one hand, to solve the accumulated problems, and on the other hand, to meet the modern agenda in the form of new challenges in the field of healthcare and rapidly developing information technologies. Meanwhile, in the course of ongoing reforms, questions of the formation and development of the intellectual potential of employees of medical organizations remain outside the brackets. PURPOSE: The purpose of the study is to rethink various approaches to intellectual potential, and to identify trends in this area. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The information base of the study was the Federal State Statistics Service data, as well as a mass questionnaire survey among doctors and nurses. RESULTS: The study showed that the number of residents and graduate students is increasing, while the proportion of those who defended their dissertations is decreasing, so it is premature to talk about the development and growth of the base of intellectual potential in the medical field, this issue requires additional study to develop measures to reverse the situation. As a result of the study, the authors come to the conclusion that it is necessary to improve the management efficiency in medical organizations, create a favorable socio-psychological climate in the team. To solve these problems, the authors highlight the necessary areas of work of medical organizations. CONCLUSIONS: The article provides a review of theoretical approaches to the concept of «intellectual potential¼, identification of its role in the development and growth of organizations, methods for assessing its components. The analysis of adaptability of these approaches to the work of medical organizations has been undertaken.

RESUMO

Nowadays, business is not only a financial entity. The environmental impact of rapid business growth necessitates solutions. This study considers natural resource orchestration theory (ROT) to study the impact of the environment management control system (MCS) package and green intellectual capital (IC) on environmental performance through the mediating role of top management support (TMS) and the interaction role of green business strategies. This study employed partial least squares structural equation modeling to analyze 358 questionnaires. Simple sampling was used to collect data from Pakistan manufacturing firms. The results revealed that the environmental MCS package significantly influences environmental performance directly and through TMS mediation. Still, the green IC does not influence environmental performance directly or through mediation in selected industries of Pakistan. Furthermore, the interaction of TMS and green business strategies significantly determines environmental performance. This study suggests managers use the environmental MCS package, green IC, top management support, and green business strategies in decision-making to determine environmental performance of manufacturing firms in Pakistan even though green IC has no influence on environmental performance. This study used natural ROT to impart the managerial role along with bundling firms' resources and strategies (i.e., environmental MCS package, green IC, top management support, and green business strategies) which is ignored in the resource-based view.

RESUMO

With the rapid growth of technologies, sciences, and globalization, many organizations have modified and updated their managerial policies to meet modern requirements. To survive difficulties and setbacks, especially unexpected crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies turned their attention to employees' knowledge sharing, intellectual capital, and innovative thoughts and behaviors to gain wealth, value, and success. Given the severe shock that the pandemic exerted on many countries' economy, the psycho-emotional and individual aspects of work obtained unprecedented scholarly attention. However, the way knowledge sharing and intellectual capital can interact to foster and enhance innovation at workplaces has remained under-researched. To fill this gap, the present review article presented the theoretical and empirical foundations of these three factors and stressed their possible interplay. In the end, some implications and suggestions for further research were offered to managers and eager researchers to practically and scientifically examine the interplay of knowledge sharing, intellectual capital, and innovative work behaviors.

RESUMO

This research aims to examine the factors that determine the sustainable performance of the hospitality sector of Pakistan. Particularly, it measures the effect of three green HRM practises on hotels' social, economic, and environmentally sustainable performance. The research model incorporates a serially mediated role of green intellectual capital and green behaviour to connect green training, green benefits and compensation, and green hiring with sustainable performance. The study uses the Social Cognitive Theory and resource-based view theory and analyses data using simple random sampling, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modelling. Data is collected from the staff of hotels through a dyad approach by employing the self-administered 5-Likert scale questionnaire. The response rate is 99%, and findings show that green intellectual capital and green behaviour serially mediate amongst green performance, green training, sustainable social performance, sustainable economic performance, and environmentally sustainable performance. However, green hiring does not regress directly or partially with the components of sustainable performance. The study's originality develops green HRM practises based on sustainable performance in the hospitality sector in developing nations. The study's findings are important for achieving sustainable development goals, improving the hospitality sector performance, and employees' role in sustainable performance. The study is sector-specific, and future studies may choose the moderated role of factors to determine sustainable performance.

RESUMO

Green logistics has recently received considerable attention because of its practical benefits to businesses and the environment, particularly in developing countries. However, there is a lack of empirical evidence regarding the motivations behind green logistics practices and environmental performance. This study explores the impact of green logistics knowledge exploitation on green logistics management practices and green logistics performance. In addition, this study explains the moderating role of green intellectual capital in the relationship between green logistics knowledge exploitation and green logistics management practices. Based on responses from 142 Vietnamese logistics business managers, the data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. To our knowledge, this is the first study to confirm 1) the influence of green logistics knowledge exploitation on green logistics performance through the mediating role of green logistics management practices, and 2) the moderating effect of green intellectual capital on the relationship between green logistics knowledge exploitation and green logistics management practices. These results have implications for environmental management practices in logistics operations and could help promote green logistics practices through green logistics knowledge exploitation and its subsequent enhancement of green logistics performance.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The hospital environment is very dynamic and faces many internal and external changes. Healthcare knowledge and technology are developing at a swift pace. This study investigated the relationship between succession and intellectual capital with entrepreneurship at the Qazvin University of Medical Sciences hospital, Iran. METHODS: The number of employees working in six hospitals was 2256, and according to Morgan's table, the required number of samples was 331. We distributed three hundred sixty-five questionnaires considering 10% of sample loss. We used a multi-stage stratified sampling method. In the first stage, each hospital was considered a stratum. After that, occupational groups were considered the next stratum within each hospital, and based on the ratio, the required number of samples for each occupational group was randomly selected. We used the Sobel test to investigate the mediating role of intellectual capital and the structural equation model to fit the research model. RESULTS: Succession aspects, including culturalization, meritocracy, job promotion path, and the role of senior managers, have a positive and significant effect on intellectual capital. Succession is only effective on intellectual capital and does not affect the personnel's entrepreneurship directly or through intellectual capital. CONCLUSION: Conducting training classes and intervention programs and using localized succession models can create a suitable platform for increasing organizational creativity and entrepreneurship, motivating the hospitals' personnel, and increasing intellectual capital.

RESUMO

Introduction: The rapid advances in technology, market pressures, globalization, and, recently, the COVID-19 pandemic show the need to find educational models that respond to these realities while improving the employability levels of young people and promoting economic growth. This research analyzes how the professional formation model, where two learning spaces, the academy, and the company, are combined, promotes the closing of gaps and economic growth, through the development of intellectual capital that arises from this relationship, in an emerging economy such as Colombia. Methods: The methodology used corresponds to a qualitative approach, where the vision of the actors involved in the training process at the undergraduate level in Colombia is analyzed through semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and documentary analysis. Results and discussion: The results show five major elements to consider for the formation of the intellectual capital required for the success of the relationship and the reduction in the gaps between academia and business: decision-making mechanisms, inter-organizational coordination, knowledge.

RESUMO

The knowledge economy system shifts focus on the significance of intellectual capital. Moreover, the concept itself has gained generous amount of recognition at global level due to the increasing pressure from competitors, stakeholders, and environmental forces. Indeed, its antecedents and consequences have been assessed by scholars. However, the assessment appears to be inexhaustive with respect to meaningful frameworks. With the help of preceding literature, the present paper designed a model which involves green intellectual capital, green innovation, environmental knowledge, green social behavior, and learning outcomes. The model stipulates that green intellectual capital makes green innovation possible which further results in competitive advantage in the presence of environmental knowledge as a mediator as green social behavior and learning outcomes as a moderator. Interestingly the model acknowledges the proposed relationship through the empirical evidence collected from 382 Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises. The findings provide deeper insights regarding the issue that how firms could extract maximum benefits from their green assets and capabilities in the form of intellectual capital and green innovation.

RESUMO

Purpose: Innovation as intellectual capital is the main capital to improve the economy and welfare for developing countries. In this article, the researchers focus on discussing how this Patent valuation system is built in developing countries, In this article, the word technology here is patent-protected technology especially in Indonesia. The primary purpose of the patent assessment in this article is to provide loans, or in Indonesia, it is referred to as a patent fiduciary. This research is also expected to provide a solution to the decline in Indonesia's GII rank in 2021. The researchers describe how this technology valuation relates to fostering innovation in Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach: This research applies a descriptive analytical method. The researchers analyze existing innovation conditions through an intellectual property management approach and theories in intellectual property. The researchers construct the formation of a valuation system in Indonesia and form a valuation linkage scheme and technology improvement in Indonesia. Finding: The researchers map a valuation system consisting of integrated subsystems and describe how these subsystems work and are integrated with each other. Furthermore, it is also found that valuation has a positive correlation with the increase in innovation in developing countries, especially for innovation-based startups and small and medium-sized companies in Indonesia. Research limitation/implication: The limitation of this research is the technology valuation process using three conventional methods. It still allows the emergence of new methods and this research is based on Indonesian characteristics, although this research can be applied in developing countries in ASEAN region which have the same characteristics as Indonesia. Original/value: The novelty values contained in this article, firstly on the formation of a valuation system that can be adopted by Indonesia which does not yet exist, The technology valuation system can also apply in several developing countries, especially countries in the ASEAN region which will focus on the development of innovation and technology. Secondly, the valuation system and fiduciary implementation can indirectly increase national innovation.

RESUMO

Manufacturing organizations have a pivotal role in reducing the adverse impact of global warming by adopting sustainable practices and producing environmentally-friendly products. Organizations are engaged in environmental corporate social responsibility (ECSR) and emphasize green intellectual capital (GIC), green innovative products and support for business sustainability (BUS). The current study aims to analyze the impact of organizational ECSR and GIC on green innovation (GIN) and BUS. The data for 237 participants from the manufacturing firms were analyzed via partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The study results revealed that ECSR and GIC are crucial for GIN and BUS. The study's findings revealed that ECSR positively and significantly impacts green relational capital (GRC) and green structural capital (GSC). However, ECSR's positive impact on green human capital (GHC) was insignificant. Further, the results of the mediation analysis show that GIN serves as a full mediator between GIC's two components, GRC and GSC and a partial mediator between GHC and BUS. This study extends the environmental management literature and suggests measures for practitioners to enhance organizational capabilities in order to address environmental issues through innovative green initiatives.

RESUMO

Organizational vitality encompasses organizational mission and identity, organizational purpose and values, and employee engagement, cohesiveness, anxiety, and information sharing. Using the organizational vitality framework consisting of the following five pillars: (1) human, (2) knowledge, (3) intellectual, (4) financial capital, and (5) market value, we propose a reflection guide and specific calls to action for academic leaders including deans, department chairs, assistant/associate deans, and others within pharmacy and healthcare education systems. Our overall aim is to provide a blueprint for academic leaders to assess and enhance the organizational health, vitality, resiliency, and sustainability of their pharmacy educational programs using an established organizational vitality framework. This guide can help academic leaders at all levels to reflect on their organization's vitality and use the steps outlined here to renew conversations about faculty life, identities as leaders, the global pharmacy Academy's core mission and values, and the pursuit of work-life harmony in the context of their pharmacy schools' organizational vitality. All leaders within pharmacy educational programs should identify and embrace a holistic and guided framework that emphasizes organizational vitality.

RESUMO

Intellectual Capital (IC) is a driving force behind the financial performance of non-financial firms. Investing in intellectual and physical capital allows companies to optimize their financial performance by maximizing resource utilization. This study aims to determine whether IC efficiency impacts the financial performance of listed Pakistani and Indian companies between 2010 and 2020. Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE) are used to calculate financial performance, and IC is calculated using the modified Value-Added Intellectual Coefficient (MVAIC) model. Regression analysis is performed using the STATA software developed by the South Texas Art Therapy Association. Human Capital (HC), Structural Capital (SC), and Capital Employed (CE) have a significant impact on Pakistani and Indian firms' financial performance. Resource-based theory (RBT) supports these findings. The findings should provide management with a prompt to improve financial performance and emphasize the importance of IC. A rare study has addressed the impact of IC on firm financial performance using the MVAIC model, rather than the VAIC model, in Pakistan and India.

RESUMO

To demonstrate how green innovation (GI) effectively occurs, this study examines the effects of green intellectual capital (GIC) on GI from the perspective of green supply chain integration (GSCI). Based on a natural-resource-based view and knowledge-based view, the authors constructed an intermediary model of GIC-GSCI-GI, and analyzed the effects of green absorptive ability (GAA) and relationship learning ability (RLA) as moderators. An empirical survey of 328 Chinese manufacturing companies was conducted. Our results indicate that three dimensions of GIC positively impact GI. The mediating effects of internal and external GSCI exist in the relationship between GIC and GI. The moderating effects of GAA and RLA in these effects were also verified. Our study provides further empirical evidence for the relationship between GIC and GI, highlights the effects of companies' internal and external abilities on GI, and suggests new ways and implementation contexts for GI.

RESUMO

Insights in understanding critical growth drivers of innovation are essential for industrial development and economic growth for competitive advantage. This study identifies indicators from the world's major indexes and industry-level concerns. The indicators are mapped to these concerns using expert opinions and then treated mathematically using technique of order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS). This mapping ranks and identifies the most favorable indicators for several concerns. It, thus, identifies the critical role the indicators play for the drivers to the most effective advantage using the TOPSIS method as a comprehensive ranking of indicators effectively facilitates decision-making for estimated levels. The method highlights are as follows: • The most prevailing indicators for innovation are considered from the major innovation indexes for industries for mapping with concerns within the industry. • Industry-specific concerns for the pharmaceutical industry are selected for the study. • The mapping of indicators to concerns using expert opinion and using the TOPSIS method generated a matrix of the ranked indicators, aids in prioritizing resources and existing knowledge to resolve the concerns.
